Our Baby Grace's 1st Christmas

It has been a whirlwind year and it didn't slow down for the Christmas season. We had such a fun time decorating and preparing our home and hearts for the big day...wanting to make it as magical as can be for our baby's 1st Christmas!

I think we (and Santa) may have gone a little overboard with gifts, but it was worth it! Grace loves all her new toys, clothes, etc and she is very blessed to have such a loving, generous family.

Christmas Eve we went to the 4pm Mass with Miz and Granddad and the Baileys then out to a delicious Italian dinner (the kids were so good) and then to Aunt Tracy and Uncle Clint's for dessert and playtime with Grace's Atlanta Cousins, Ryan and Garrett.

Then on Christmas Day, we opened gifts at our home and then went to Nana and Granddaddy Warren's house for presents and delicious brunch. GG, Aunt Susan, and Aunt Ansley were also there and showered us with adorable gifts. Then we went home for a break and a nap before heading back out to the Emery's for presents and a scrumptious turkey dinner with the Baileys. Grace got even MORE awesome gifts from all of them. Then we went home and got a call from Uncle John telling us that they had Baby Bea home with them (1st time home since she was born on Dec 8th) and that the package they sent for Grace was sitting in our mailbox. So we went out to get it and there were 3 gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer dresses for her!

All in all, it was a busy holiday but we now are able to look back and reflect on the joy-filled time and the blessings that fill our lives.

For God so loved the world, that he gave His only son! Happy birthday Jesus, our Lord! Thank you for all that you have provided us - a loving family, a beautiful child, and an abundance of gifts!

Grace's Summer Vacation to Cape May, NJ

We made the trip up to Cape May this year with our baby girl and she enjoyed every minute of it. We flew to Atlantic City on the same plane as the Baileys and Uncle John picked us up and drove us down to our beautiful town house to meet up with Miz and Grandaddy and the Baileys. It was a fun time and Grace was so good on her first plane ride and loved the beach. She even did a little swimming in the pool!

Grace is 3 months old!

Our baby is already 3 months old! Grace is doing so well and she's growing every day. She likes to talk - especially after getting kisses - and loves to just hang out on her changing table while Mommy talks and sings to her. She's taken a liking to her Daddy lately and loves when he does leg exercises with her. With Atlanta's usual hot weather already creeping in, we've had to transition her away from her usual "jammies" and introduce her to "onesies" so she doesn't get too hot - she's turning into a true Atlanta baby. She's had a busy 3 months of life - spending time with her cousins and grandparents, been to Florida and back, and many shopping outings (even to Home Depot.) We also had a trip planned to visit her Great Grammy in Ohio for Mother's Day, but with the Swine Flu scare we're going to try to visit later in the summer.

2 months old

Grace is now just over 2 months old and she is certainly the love of our lives! Mom is back to work this week - which has been hard but she knows her Nana is lovingly taking care of her! In 2 short months (that have flown by), we've had our obstacles with feeding and weight gain but she is on track now. She likes to be held and in the past few days is now starting to become so much more observant and interactive. She's taken a liking to Eeore and Tigger on her crib mobile and she may already be a young fan of The Wiggles (her cousin RyRy's favorite show).

Grace is Born!

We were blessed with our first child on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at 5:05 in the evening. Grace Kathryn came into this world via C-section at Northside Hospital by Dr. Brad Moore. She weighed 6 lbs., 2 0z. and measured 19 inches long. She was born 4 weeks early due to her mother's pre-eclampsia condition. Although born early, Grace only spent 2 hours in the transition nursery for observation and was then given the thumbs up to join us in our hospital room. According to her doctors, she is "perfect". In only a few short days, she has brought so much joy into our lives. Grace loves to sleep and she has been so good. We have to wake her to feed her because she is still very small and has lost a few ounces since her birth.
